Description
The Business Risk Manager reports to the Head of Business risk, Trust and Fiduciary Services (TFS). The primary function is to partner with the business, providing support to achieve growth aspirations whilst retaining the appropriate risk management discipline to achieve strategic goals. Business Risk Managers work closely with Risk Owners, Control Owners and Risk Stewards to ensure the execution of non-financial risk management activities in the 1 st line of defence and to provide expert risk advice and input and necessary control monitoring.We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Risk and Control Manager.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Handle operational incidents, customer complaints and escalation.
- Develop and execute control monitoring plans (as requested by Control Owners); work with Risk Owners to identify and oversee completion of remediation actions.
- Co-ordinate the Risk Control Assessment (RCA) process on behalf of Risk Owners and Control Owners as requested (e.g. trigger event monitoring; stakeholder engagement; meeting organisation and outputs etc.); engage Risk Stewards as required.
- Produce Business/Function operational risk reporting and insight based on RCA results for use by Risk Owners, Control Owners, Risk Stewards and wider stakeholders or governance Track and provide advice on the completion of management response actions; ensure timely and accurate recording in the operational risk management system.
- Promote non-financial risk awareness, including training and communications for the Business Assist the business in streamlining initiatives while maintaining/ improving the risk control environment.
- Provide feedback, guidance and advice to the Business on proposed operational risk policy and likely impact.
- Establish / maintain strong working relationships with the risk owners, control owners and risk stewards to ensure the business is compliant.
To be successful you will need:
- Previous experience in Risk Management within a global organisation, working across cultures.
- Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Senior Management using simple language
- Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, political, competitors etc.).
- Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior executives across multiple functions.
