HOURS OF WORK: 4/10's, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., M-Th
The ideal candidate for this position would possess a high level of organizational, time management, and record keeping skills, along with expertise and experience in right of way acquisitions involving private owners and federal, state, and local agencies as well as property management processes including examining and solving property title issues, reviewing appraisals, and presenting/negotiating acquisitions; and demonstrate the ability to accurately analyze information and provide sound advice, solutions, and recommendations.
INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check, and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.
Requirements
Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in business or public administration, engineering or a related field; successful completion of the courses offered by the International Right of Way Association, leading to certification as a Specialist in one or more of the IRWA's Right of Way Disciplines; and three years of increasingly responsible real estate and/or right of way acquisition experience (preferable in a public agency setting); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid Nevada driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the District's Vehicle Insurance Policy.
A Senior Member, International Right of Way Association (SR/WA) professional designation or Certification as a Specialist in one or more of the five IRWA Right of Way Disciplines is desired, but not required.
