Location: Lahey Hospital & Medical Center | Burlington, MA
Campus: UMass Chan – Lahey Regional Medical School
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) and the UMass Chan–Lahey Regional Medical School seek an accomplished academic physician to serve as Assistant/Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education. In this leadership role, the Assistant Dean oversees delivery and quality improvement of the regional VISTA curriculum, manages UME operations and accreditation, partners with campus and system leaders to ensure an exceptional learner experience, and recruits and supports faculty. The position also includes maintaining an active clinical practice at LHMC.

Join an innovative new regional campus dedicated to developing the next generation of purpose-driven physician leaders. You will oversee the delivery, development, and continuous quality improvement of the UME portfolio, ensuring alignment with the UMass Chan VISTA curriculum and LCME standards.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Leadership: Oversee the implementation and assessment of the regional campus curriculum (Early Clinical Learning, Clerkships, and Leadership Tracks).
Operational Oversight: Manage UME academic and operational processes, including curriculum committees and accreditation (LCME/NECHE).
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Student Affairs, Faculty Development, and UMass Chan main campus leadership to ensure a seamless learner experience.
Faculty Development: Recruit, mentor, and prepare faculty leaders for innovative curriculum delivery.
Clinical Practice: Maintain an active clinical practice at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (approx. 50% time).
Qualifications
Education: MD or DO degree required; Master’s in Education strongly preferred.
Licensure: Board certified; eligible for/current Massachusetts medical license.
Experience: 4+ years of leadership in LCME-accredited undergraduate medical education, curriculum design, and assessment or equivalent experience in a COCA accredited college of osteopathic medicine.
Skills: Strong proficiency in data-driven process improvement, project management, and inter-professional communication.

Pay Range:
$350,000.00 USD - $410,000.00 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation may be determined based on several factors, that may include education, training, relevant experience, specialty, geography of work location, productivity, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include productivity and quality bonuses.
