Job Summary
The Administrative Assistant II provides analytical and administrative support by evaluating programs, budgets, systems, procedures, and organizational operations. This role focuses on identifying issues, conducting research, and developing recommendations to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery. The position supports management decision-making and may assist with implementing operational improvements and administrative initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, evaluate, and prepare recommendations related to departmental budgets or major budget segments
Review and assess organizational structures, systems, and work procedures; recommend improvements
Analyze facilities planning needs, including siting, leasing, equipping, and staffing considerations
Conduct studies on administrative, programmatic, and operational issues with cross-functional impact
Prepare written reports, recommendations, procedural manuals, and operating instructions
Support implementation of approved changes resulting from studies and evaluations
Perform specialized administrative and management-related duties, as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
One of the following experience options:
Two years of experience in a staff or advisory capacity analyzing and recommending solutions related to organization, systems, procedures, programs, budgets, or personnel
One year of experience performing comparable analytical or administrative work at an intermediate administrative support level
Additional Requirements
Ability to meet documentation and verification requirements for qualifying experience
Valid driver’s license or ability to use alternative transportation for job-related duties
Physical Requirements
Light physical effort, including occasional lifting up to 10 pounds, bending, stooping, squatting, and periods of walking or standing
This position is well suited for detail-oriented administrative professionals with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills who can support management through data-driven recommendations and effective administrative support.
