Description
This is an entry level position that begins in June. Current undergraduate seniors are encouraged to apply. This is a fully remote position. Prior political experience is great but not necessary. Prior analyst experience is also great, but not necessary. The position will include training to give you necessary background in political modeling.
Responsibilities
In your role as a data analyst, you will develop a thorough understanding of Haystaq’s code base and available datasets.
Responsibilities include:
Matching client data sets to our database of 217M voters and 250M Consumers
Appending requested information to client data sets, such as additional phone numbers, email addresses and modeled scores
Pulling fundraising target lists for SMS campaigns
Pulling sample universes for internal surveys and external Polling clients
Running correlations between client data sets and our modeled scores
Learning to train machine learning models using frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, and LightGBM.
Support our core products (National Models, Fundraising Lists, Match and Appends)
Write Python and SQL scripts to support ad hoc projects
Create maps and visualizations for client review
Create presentations as required
Work with clients to understand and fulfill requests
Compensation and Logistics
We are hiring multiple Data Analysts who will begin at the same time this June. This is a contract-to-hire position, the Analysts would be month-to-month contractors for the first six months. At the end of the six month probationary period, great candidates would likely be offered full time positions. This position is full-time and fully remote. The hourly rate for the first month is $25 an hour with a step up to $30 per hour upon completion of training. Upon promotion to a full time employee after six months, we would provide competitive benefits.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science or Data Science (Spring 2026 graduation fine)
Experience with Python (numpy, pandas, Scikit-learn ideal)
Experience with SQL (Redshift ideal)
Familiarity working in a Linux/Command Line environment
Political Campaign Experience
Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environments like Google Cloud (Linux EC2, S3 and Redshift experience ideal)
Familiarity with Git/Github
Any experience with geospatial python packages and/or mapping software like Mapbox/QGis/Esri
Experience creating data Dashboards
Fluency in Spanish
Strong written and verbal communication
Familiarity with CRMs particularly Political CRMs/Voterfiles (L2, PDI, NGPVAN, Targetsmart, Catalist)
