OverviewOrganization: South Central PGA & PGA REACH South Central
Location: Broken Arrow, OK (Headquarters) / Remote capability within the Section
Reports To: Executive Director
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
About Us: The South Central PGA is one of 41 Sections of the Professional Golfers' Association of America. We serve 600 PGA Members and Associates across Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Southern Kansas. Our mission is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry.
PGA REACH South Central is the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of our Section. We impact lives through golf by focusing on three key pillars:
- Youth: Instilling values and providing access through programs like PGA Jr. League, Junior Interclub, scholarships and grants.
- Military: Improving the physical and mental well-being of veterans through PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere).
- Diversity: Promoting a diverse workforce and welcoming environment through PGA WORKS.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Director of Business Development to lead revenue generation for both the professional association and the charitable foundation.
In this hybrid role, you will act as the primary architect of our commercial and philanthropic growth. You will secure corporate partnerships that drive our Section tournaments and member programs, while spearheading fundraising initiatives that fuel the life-changing work of PGA REACH South Central.
Experience Required
Qualifications
- Experience: Experience in sales, business development, non-profit fundraising, or sports marketing.
- Track Record: Success in sponsorship sales or charitable gift giving.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills; ability to articulate the "value of golf" to corporate executives and donors alike.
- Industry Knowledge: Passion for the game of golf is highly preferred.
- Travel: Willingness to travel throughout the Section (OK, AR, Southern KS) for meetings and events.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.

- Connector: You naturally build rapport and have an existing network in the South Central Section.
- Mission-Driven: You genuinely care about how golf can help veterans heal and kids learn life lessons.
Essential Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect & Close: Identify, research, and solicit new corporate partners for Section tournaments, meetings, and educational programs.
- Asset Management: Create customized sponsorship packages that utilize Section assets (digital media, event signage, naming rights, hospitality) to meet client ROI goals.
- Retention: Manage relationships with existing partners to ensure contract deliverables are met and renewals are secured.
- B2B Networking: Represent the South Central PGA at industry functions, chambers of commerce, and business networking events across Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Kansas.
- Donor Cultivation: Help develop and execute a donor acquisition strategy, focusing on individual giving, major gifts, and annual campaigns.
- Grant Writing: Assist with the identification and application for local, state, and national grants that align with our pillars (Youth, Military, Diversity).
- Charity Events: Lead the planning and monetization of major fundraising events, such as Pro-Ams, charity golf days, and galas.
- Storytelling: Collaborate with the board and staff to help craft compelling narratives about PGA HOPE and Junior Golf successes to inspire giving.
Benefits
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 base salary plus commission structure on all sponsorship sales and fundraising bonus eligibility.
- Commission/Bonus: Performance-based incentive structure tied to revenue goals (sponsorship sales + fundraising targets).
