Overview

Ocean Pines Golf Course is looking to hire a driven and accomplished Director of Instruction & Player Development to oversee and grow all instructional and player development efforts at the facility. This position plays a key role in elevating the overall golf experience by helping players improve, increasing participation, and strengthening long-term engagement with the game.

The Director will be responsible for building, organizing, and delivering a comprehensive instruction program that supports golfers at every stage of development. This includes private coaching, group instruction, clinics, and the creation of clear development pathways that guide players from beginner through advanced levels. The role requires a hands-on teaching presence along with the ability to design programs that are both impactful and sustainable.

An important component of this position is expanding involvement among juniors, women, and new golfers through welcoming, well-structured programs that encourage continued participation. The Director is expected to incorporate modern teaching methods, training technology, and creative programming while maintaining a high level of service and professionalism consistent with Ocean Pines Golf Course standards.

The Director of Instruction & Player Development will work closely with the Director of Golf and the golf operations team to ensure instructional programming aligns with the club's overall mission, culture, and strategic goals.

Position can be offered as a year-round or seasonal role, depending on the experience and fit of the selected candidate

Experience Required

• PGA or LPGA membership preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of professional teaching experience with a demonstrated ability to build and sustain a personal clientele
• Strong background in golf instruction, with indoor, simulator, or studio-based teaching experience considered a plus
• Thorough understanding of full swing fundamentals, short game development, and on-course strategy
• Proficient in the use of modern coaching tools, including video swing analysis and launch monitor technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and educate golfers of all ages and skill levels
• Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to balance instruction, program development, and administrative responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality private lessons, group sessions, and clinics for golfers ranging from first-time players to advanced competitors
• Develop individualized coaching plans aligned with each player's goals, skill level, and long-term development
• Create a positive, professional learning environment that encourages confidence, improvement, and enjoyment of the game
• Lead and manage the club's PGA Jr. League team, including player development, practices, match preparation, and parent communication
• Support program growth through marketing contributions such as instructional videos, social media content, and student success stories
• Monitor player development by documenting lesson details, progress benchmarks, and performance metrics
• Stay current on emerging teaching techniques, training technologies, and trends within the golf industry
