Description
Job Title: Director of OperationsBusiness Line: Critical Care (Specialty/ER animal hospitals)
At Rarebreed Veterinary Partners, we seek to elevate the human experience by advancing the well-being of pets, their people, and the professionals who care for them. We believe the work our hospital teams do deepens the human-animal bond and enriches our human experience. Across the company, we work as one team to provide compassionate, accessible veterinary care that inspires lasting trust with pet parents, and the person in this job plays a critical role in delivering upon that mission. We're a dedicated and hard-working bunch, and we take our work seriously...but we're also looking for people who enjoy the journey and want to have fun along the way!
The Critical Care Director of Operations is an integral part of the Rarebreed hospital success team, overseeing operations at large Specialty/ER animal hospitals in the Northeast. This role holds P&L responsibility for $35m+ and has full accountability and empowerment for delivering patient care, people and hospital business outcomes, hiring and retention, and overall field leadership. We are open to making this a Sr. Director role for candidates with deeper experience and a demonstrated history of achievement.
We're looking for a person who has experiences and traits that look like some combination of the following:
- A field operations leader with hospital and/or multi-site experience in veterinary medicine.
- A veterinary doctor who has practiced clinically and/or led hospitals from a field operations seat.
- A leader who knows how to grow animal hospitals through doctor hiring and retention, new client acquisition, referral relationship development, and enhanced veterinary services in a specialty and emergency setting.
- A commercially-oriented, outcomes-focused leader who has demonstrated achievement at a high level while bringing a certain humbleness, curiosity, willingness to learn, and team -focus to this role.
- A go-getter willing to travel within the Northeast (and preferably lives in the region) to be onsite frequently, since that's where the real action happens.
- An experienced mentor and developer of people, ready to come alongside other leaders and to make each other better.
- A teammate who is ready to pursue excellence, embrace change, act with purpose, thrive together, and lead with love as we support our partner hospitals.
