Description
Position SummaryB&M Flagging Services is seeking an Experienced Traffic Control Technician / Flagger to join our growing field team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in active work zones and a clear understanding of proper flagging and safety procedures. This role requires focus, teamwork, and professionalism while working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices (cones, signs, barrels, barricades) according to MUTCD standards and job-specific plans.
- Safely direct and control the flow of vehicles and pedestrians through construction and utility work zones.
- Maintain clear communication with crew members and the public to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Inspect work zones and make necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and visibility.
- Assist with lane closures, detours, and temporary traffic pattern changes.
- Travel to various project sites as needed.
- Follow all company and state safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of traffic control or flagging experience preferred.
- Must be dependable, alert, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of MUTCD standards and flagging best practices.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends or nights when required.
- ATSSA or state flagger certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
- Overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
- Per diem pay for travel assignments.
