Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Family Law Attorney based in Plymouth Meeting, PA, with some flexibility for remote work. The Family Law Attorney will manage cases involving family law matters and legal issues, including drafting motions, preparing legal documents, and attending court proceedings. Additionally, the attorney will provide counsel to clients, undertake negotiations, and maintain a client-centric approach throughout the legal process.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Family Law matters.
- Proficiency in handling cases related to legal issues, motions, and litigation.
- Skill in preparing and conducting client interviews and handling court proceedings.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active license to practice in Pennsylvania.
- NJ and/or NY a plus.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with clients to resolve complex and sensitive legal matters.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, managing both in-office and remote responsibilities.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities – Family Law Attorney
- Manage a full caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution, including divorce, custody, support, and related proceedings.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, conferences, hearings, and trials across Pennsylvania counties, primarily Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Berks, Lehigh, Chester, and Philadelphia.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies aligned with Pennsylvania family law statutes and case law.
- Prepare for and conduct depositions, client interviews, and witness examinations.
- Provide clear, practical legal counsel to clients navigating complex and emotionally sensitive issues.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel in a professional and solution-oriented manner to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain consistent and proactive communication with clients, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout the legal process.
- Collaborate with firm staff, including paralegals and administrative team members, to ensure efficient case management and workflow.
- Utilize firm technology systems (including Clio and other legal tech tools) to manage cases, track time, and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to firm policies, ethical obligations, and professional standards of practice.
- Participate in strategy meetings and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of firm processes.
- Balance in-office and remote responsibilities effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Support business development efforts through client service excellence, referrals, and maintaining professional relationships.
