Description
The postdoctoral fellowship/residency is housed in the Division of Pediatric Psychology, Institute on Development and Disability (IDD), Department of Pediatrics, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, Oregon. Portland is in the Pacific Northwest with access to the beach, mountains, and a multitude of activities. The residency is a 1-year position, with the option of extending for an additional year, pending funding and satisfactory performance. The position emphasizes advanced clinical training in pediatric evidence-based anxiety treatment.
Requirements
The residency is primarily clinical and emphasizes advanced training in evidence-based anxiety treatment (CBT, ERP, TF-CBT) in a tertiary pediatric setting. Patients served tend to be medically, neuro-developmentally (ASD, DD, ADHD, etc.), and/or psychologically complex (multiple comorbidities e.g., depression, tic disorders, behavioral problems, restricted eating, sensory issues), and have often been treatment refractory in other settings. Common patient presentations include the anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and related conditions such as misophonia, vocal cord dysfunction, and/or functional neurological symptom disorder (FNSD/FND). Much of the population served in rural and has limited access to OHSU. Thus delivery of care will be a mix of virtual and in-person.
