- Generalist Physiotherapy
Description
At this stage, the primary role within our clinic is to work alongside the clinic owner as the second Physiotherapist, within a multidisciplinary team that is primarily based in a busy GP practice in Mount Barker, WA. The role will include both in clinic and mobile Physiotherapy in the home, however the balance of this can be altered to fit employee preference.
From the owner:
“Together, we provide general physiotherapy services within the clinic, as well as in home physiotherapy services across the Plantagenet region and Denmark region. If you have a particular area of practice that you love working in, I am very happy to support and facilitate this wherever possible, to encourage your professional growth, sense of ease, and fulfilment in your work.
The business is a small, family run practice operated by myself and my wife, who is a remedial massage therapist. Over the past six years we have built strong and meaningful connections within our local community, and we are now looking to expand our offerings by welcoming another team member to meet the high level of demand.
It is important to be clear that we are not a large corporate enterprise. There are no KPIs to chase, as this is simply not our way of working. We provide a heartfelt service to the communities in which we live and work, and we place a strong emphasis on genuine work life balance while delivering high quality, client centred, evidence based care. We value accountability, integrity and clear communication in our team, clinic, professional networks and with our clients.
I have ten years of clinical experience as a Physiotherapist, with a strong background in manual therapy, having studied Osteopathy prior to Physiotherapy. My practice incorporates Functional Movement Systems (FMS), a strong emphasis on pain science education and Lifestyle Medicine, although this does not need to be your approach. I am very happy to provide mentorship to a new graduate or less experienced Physiotherapist as desired, and I will always support ongoing professional development, innovation, and the integration of your own ideas and areas of passion into our practice.”
About the practice:
We are an independent, small business, with our primary place of practice located within a busy GP and multidisciplinary clinic in Mount Barker, WA. The clinic has excellent communication, a non hierarchical structure, and a genuinely collaborative culture. Myself and the doctors in our Plantagenet Medical team are approachable and readily available to discuss challenging clinical situations.
With sufficient staffing, we may also look to expand our presence in Denmark with more home service delivery and a possible second clinic space. Home visit services for older adults receiving Support at Home packages, as well as NDIS participants, are an established part of our business. You would be free to engage in this aspect of the role to a greater or lesser extent, depending on your interests and preferences.
What's on offer for the successful candidate:
A rewarding rural lifestyle at the foot of the Stirling Ranges, within a supportive and values driven team
Above average remuneration
Full time salary range of $85,000 to $115,000, depending on experience and scope of practice, with individual negotiation welcomed
Part time arrangements are also available, with pay negotiated based on experience and hours, and offered above standard rates
NOTE: While we would love to welcome someone in a full time capacity, part time permanent arrangements are also very welcome.
Requirements
You must be a registered AHPRA Physiotherapist in Australia and hold appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
Beyond this, we are seeking someone who enjoys, or is open to working as a generalist, or who is excited to bring their area of expertise to a regional community. If you strongly prefer big city living, this role is likely not the right fit, but life in the Great Southern is something truly special, and we love living and working here.
Some experience treating musculoskeletal conditions is preferred, but not essential.
