Overview

The Golf Shop Merchandiser assists the Head Golf Professional in the management of sales operations of the facility. The position is responsible to supervise and manage all sales and inventory control of the golf department. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all customers.

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Shop

• Convey a welcoming attitude to each member or guest to ensure they have an enjoyable experience.
• Account for daily cash and credit card transactions.
• Maintain orderly product displays which includes a refresh and rotation of merchandise.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the golf shop.
• Bill all members accounts daily and correctly
• Follow the Club's policies and procedures regarding the day-to-day operations of the golf shop.

Sales

• Develop and ensure the established procedures for processing special orders for members
• Responsible for replenishment of stock and handling of customer special orders.
• Responsible for creating and implementing sales promotions. They are to be advertised and properly communicated through email blasts and flyers.
• Work closely with Men's and Women's Tournament Committees to ensure timely and responsible ordering of prizes and gifts within budget.
• Establish strong relationships with industry sales representatives.

Inventory Control

• Order merchandise for golf shop and provide the best selection possible within the constraints of inventory and quality limits set by Board policy.
• Maintain an adequate system for receiving and posting inventory.
• Manage monthly inventory levels. This includes preparing monthly inventory reports and conducting physical inventory counts.
• Work with the Administrative office personnel to ensure accurate inventory and expenses for the shop.
• Establish and follow the approved operating budget for marketing and membership activities

Member Relations

• Work with Membership Director to development and maintain the club's website and all membership-related materials, such as promoting sales, member communications, and social media.
• Analyze and respond to problem situations in a timely, productive manner.
• Build and maintain a good relationship with each member and their families.
• Ensure that the Golf Shop is operated in the best interest of the membership & maintain Club of Good Fellowship motto.
• Oversee member usage and reach out to check in with member satisfaction.
• Handle member complaints, suggestions, and be a listening ear. Proceed in the best interest of the Club and be a problem solver.
• Work closely with Membership Director on newsletters and communications regarding the Golf Shop.
• Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response.
• Provide the best service possible, anticipate needs, and ensure member satisfaction.
• Prepare and send mass emails to the membership.
