- Hours are flexible between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours for workshops, staff retreats, and professional development activities.
- The dates of the contract are August 2026 until May 2027
- Each GA will be re-evaluated after one year to be considered for renewal.
Specific responsibilities for CASA:
- Assist in planning program activities prepare weekly and periodic CASA programming announcements, assist in CASA data collection, assessments, and report preparation.
- Complete special projects as needed, such as compilation of Standard Operating Procedures for all CASA staff members and other projects as assigned.
- Assist Associate Director of CASA as needed.
- Perform general and administrative duties. Maintain program files and other official records and files. Assist in planning and attend CASA events.
- Manage and distribute CASA Newsletter and social media announcements.
- Manage database of CASA Alumni and facilitate contact about events via email and LinkedIn
- Manage and participate in 1842 day outreach, events, and trainings.
- Facilitate the creation of flyers across the department.
- Supervise the CASA's lending library and check books out/in.
- Attendance at occasional evening/weekend events may be required.
For Campus Ministry:
- Administrative needs of the Service and Justice Experience Program, including any necessary clearances and paperwork needed for participation as stated by the Compliance Officer or any of our partners.
- Raise consciousness of the program by connecting in person with students on campus and curating intentional social media content that connects to the mission and identity of the programs
- Prepare site-specific research on the context of each Service and Justice Experience site and prepare leadership and participant training materials and co-lead leader and participant meetings and events.
- Willingness to attend Service and Justice Experiences in a leadership capacity as needed.
- Other Duties as assigned
- Must be fully accepted into a master's degree program at Villanova University.
- Must be a full-time student and carry 9 graduate credit hours per semester to be considered for employment.
- May take a reduced course load in their final semester if approved by the Graduate Dean.
- Must be available to work 10 hours each week during the fall and spring semesters, between the hours of 9 am-5 pm.
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

- Flexibility and ability to pivot under pressure or unexpected changes
- This position provides a bridge between CASA and Campus Ministry.
- Applicant must have familiarity with Canva, Google Forms, and Social applications like Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Applicant must have writing experience including but not limited to: blogging, periodical writing, or writing for newsletters.
- Applicant mush have familiarity with newsletter creation and distribution.
Scheduling requirements:
- Attendance at the CASA Unitas Pre- Orientation program, which occurs the second week of July, attend training in August and January, attend all staff retreats and additional staff development meetings.
- Presence and participation at key SJE related events as support for core team including leadership training meetings and retreats, commissioning services, and leadership interview and selection.
- Flexibility with schedule and hours is important. There are certain tasks that are time-sensitive based on the program timeline and based on the current task schedule may shift from week to week.
- Graduate assistants work approximately 20 hours per week.
- They will be expected to participate in staff retreats and on- and off-campus professional development activities.
- Work begins the first day of training for the Fall Semester and continues through the week of final examinations.
- Graduate assistants receive a biweekly stipend.
- Assistantships will be assigned for two semesters and can be renewed for an additional two semesters upon evaluation.
- There are no assistantships during the Summer Semester. All graduate assistantship appointments provide a full tuition waiver for 9-12 graduate credit hours, depending on the particular program of study, and a biweekly stipend for the academic year (paid August-May). No summer classes will be paid.
- Fees (e.g., activities fee, student life fee, health services fee, parking fee, late fee) remain the responsibility of the graduate assistant.
- If an appointment is made after the beginning of the semester, the stipend will be prorated based on the number of weeks remaining in the semester.
- If an assistant resigns, is dismissed, or is otherwise unable to work the required number of hours, the tuition waiver and stipend will be prorated based on the amount of time worked.
- While subject to renewal, all assistantships end with the close of university operations for the spring semester each year. Graduate assistants do not work during the winter session break or during the summer months unless agreed upon.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
