Position Title: Grants Manager
Supervisor: Director of Strategic Advancement
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Salary: $69,000 - $76,000, commensurate with experience
Location: Oklahoma City or Tulsa Office
OVERVIEW
Hunger Free Oklahoma is seeking a full-time Grants Manager to secure and manage grant funding critical to advancing the organization’s mission. This role oversees the full grant lifecycle - from research and proposal development to compliance and reporting - while managing the grants process and system to ensure accuracy and timely submissions. The Grants Manager will coordinate cross-functional staff and partners, leading and organizing multiple contributors to produce strong proposals and complete reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing complex, deadline-driven projects involving many stakeholders. Strong communication, collaboration, and the ability to keep others aligned and accountable are essential for success in this role.
WHO WE ARE
Hunger Free Oklahoma is a statewide nonprofit established to leverage the power of collaboration to solve hunger in Oklahoma by improving systems, policies, and practices, facilitating public/private partnerships, and providing backbone support to existing organizations addressing hunger.
Hunger Free Oklahoma’s primary focus is to collaboratively work with community-based organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders who directly serve individuals. We provide support through technical assistance, convening, research, and policy guidance to nonprofit, government, and other stakeholders statewide.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Grants Manager will be supervised by the Director of Strategic Advancement. At Hunger Free Oklahoma, we are committed to raising funds for strong, well-developed ideas that advance our mission and that we are prepared to implement with excellence. We seek funding for initiatives that align with our strategy and that we can execute effectively, ensuring integrity, impact, and follow-through on every commitment we make. The role will evolve over time, but the core of your work will be:
Grant Preparation
- Research and evaluate grant opportunities
- Maintain and update templates, forms, and standard grant language
- Build a basic knowledge of food insecurity and HFO’s programs
Proposal Development
- Write grant proposals
- Coordinate with subject matter experts for grant content in ways that maximize their time
- Track and reuse grant content to improve efficiency
- Obtain and create necessary attachments for grant applications
- Obtain appropriate reviews and approvals
Compliance and Administration
- Manage the 'Grant Received' process, including interdepartmental consultation
Track grant and reporting deadlines and keep stakeholders informed
Draft, develop, coordinate, and ensure timely submission of grant reports utilizing the expertise of the program team
Maintain compliance with funder branding requirements
Collaborate regularly with the finance team on grant-related processes
File, organize, and maintain grant related documents
Regular reporting to check for accuracy including for comparison to accounting software
Ensure leadership is prepared for funder meetings
Maintain grants calendar and workflow systems
Manage and improve internal grant processes

This position is full-time and based in Tulsa, OK or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This role requires the ability to independently travel to sites across the state for up to 25% of working time and may require occasional evening and weekend work to support events and programming. This position requires the ability to perform medium physical effort consisting of occasionally handling, lifting, or moving objects 20-30 pounds for handling resources and supplies, and to sit or stand to complete office-oriented work an average of 8 hours a day.

Requirements
WHO YOU ARE
To qualify for this job, you will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent and have 8 or more years of relevant experience; OR 8 years in a combination of post-secondary education or training and relevant work experience
- Previous grant writing experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and spreadsheets
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Previous experience with Salesforce (preferred)
- Previous experience with Instrumentl (preferred)
