Description

Town of Davenport Highway Department has a Job Opening. CDL license required. Equipment operator experience helpful. Good Work Ethic and Dependability a must. The Town Highway Department Worker is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving town roads, bridges, and related infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient public travel. Duties include operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, graders, and snowplows; performing road maintenance, paving, patching, and drainage work; and assisting with snow and ice control operations during winter months. The worker also performs routine inspections, minor mechanical repairs, and general labor tasks such as mowing, tree and brush removal, and sign installation. This position requires adherence to safety procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. The Highway Department Worker must be able to follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
