Description
The Department of Operations Research & Financial Engineering (ORFE) at Princeton University invites applications for an Instructor appointment beginning September 1, 2026. Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, electrical engineering, operations research or a related field relevant to the department within the last three years. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for 1-2 additional years subject to departmental need and satisfactory performance. The teaching load is one course per semester plus student advising and service responsibilities.
Successful candidates must show demonstrable excellence in research and must also have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Priority will be given to candidates whose research aligns with the department’s current interests, in particular in applied probability.

All applicants must include a cover letter, CV, research statement, teaching statement, and information for three references, one of whom should be able to address the candidate's teaching abilities.
This position is subject to the University's background check policy. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Term positions of one year or less are not eligible for sponsorship of an H-1B visa requiring consular processing.
