Laboratory Technician
Med-Medicine - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26000846)
Job Summary
Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.
Essential Functions
- Performs mouse husbandry and experiments including treatment with medications, serial blood draws (i.e. by cheek bleed), euthanasia, tissue processing/harvesting
- Performs sample analysis and processing (i.e. RT-qPCR, ELISA, histology)
- Keeps detailed, timely, and accurate lab notebooks. Organizes results.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area, collaborates with other staff and personnel in the lab to support ongoing work.
Physical Effort
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
