Description
Deborah Nevins & Associates is hiring a full-time landscape designer or landscape architect with 3-7 years of experience.
Deborah Nevins & Associates was founded in 1991 in New York City. We are a small firm known for our collaborations with some of the world’s leading architects on projects throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. DNA specializes in garden and landscape design for exceptional residential projects and major cultural institutions; our work includes the 40-acre park for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, with Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and the campus expansion of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
The candidate hired for this position will be involved in all aspects of project development and design, including preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, construction documents, construction observation, and project administration. The position entails onsite interaction with clients and collaborating architects, nursery visits to tag plant material, and frequent team meetings with contractors and architects.
This position is generally in-office four days a week, and one day a week in-office or remote. In spring, adjustments to schedule may be made for site visits. The compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on experience. The employee would become eligible for the office's health insurance plan as well as paid time off. We offer a retirement plan after 3 years of work.
Essential skills and attributes:
- 3-7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture/design
- Outstanding design and presentation skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign
- Excellent organizational/project management skills, with the ability to organize multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong interest and knowledge base in horticulture
- Degree in landscape architecture (BLA or MLA), or in architecture with experience at a landscape design firm
