Description
As Lead Information Architect, you will be part of a federated team responsible for designing, assessing, and assisting in the overall functional and data architecture underpinning the platforms that are being built out as part of a strategic reengineering effort supporting the Securities Services businesses within the JPMorgan Chase Commercial & Investment Bank.The Strategic Reengineering effort is a high profile, mission critical program with many concurrent streams of work with aggressive timelines. The Information Architect will work within several streams at the same time and will be expected to help accelerate development and improve the overall quality of these deliverables.
Required skills will include Business Expertise spanning Buy-side and Sell-side perspectives on Securities & Derivatives Products and Functional & Information Architecture experience with enterprise-scale platforms supporting Wholesale Trading businesses. This experience is essential to a successful business delivery that is also expected to help reduce operating costs, mitigate risk, and improve the performance profile of the business solution.
Job Responsibilities:
- Engaging with Business Operations, Product Management and Technology groups to ensure that business requirements are properly articulated and understood. While not involved in every aspect of design and delivery it is expected that the Information Architect helps teams overcome hurdles through direct engagement and from remaining aware of what is going on across the program through less direct mechanisms.
- Full conformance with firm-wide, Commercial & Investment Bank and sub-LOBs Architecture Patterns and Standards
- Work to realize continuous improvement on the solutions being built out.
- Extremely strong communication skills to work across different areas of the company evangelizing the benefits and importance of Functional & Information Architecture
Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Hands-on Object-Oriented software development in enterprise-sized applications utilizing languages such as Java, Python, C++; data formats like XML and JSON; Database Management Technology Standards, such as SQL
- Hands on Information Architecture in enterprise-sized applications with a strong working knowledge of Data Modelling and Meta-modelling (preferably with UML) or the use of alternative Data Modelling tools such as ERwin, Power Designer and Magic Draw
- Very strong knowledge of the Financial Services Domain with an emphasis on Custody Services. Other preferred knowledge of Institutional Businesses include Trading Middle Office, Prime Brokerage, and Fund Accounting across Securities and Derivatives Products
- Knowledge of various Data Architecture options including ODS, Data Lake, Data Catalogue (DCAT), Data Warehousing, OLTP and OLAP, the treatment of Data as a Technology Asset and the regulatory view of the same.
- Strong knowledge of Data Management technologies such as Oracle, Cassandra and Public Cloud offerings in this space
- Knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modelling
- Ability to collaborate with business teams to understand, translate, review and playback requirements into Functional and Information Architectures. Requires effective communication and facilitation with Business & Technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that represent progress towards a target state of best engineering practice, simplification, and standardization.
- Experience working within a lean/agile development framework, continuous integration, continuous delivery.
