- Litigation Associate
Description
Gleam Law is seeking a full time litigation associate to join the firm. The successful candidate will have at least 4 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation (but other litigation experience such as insurance defense and work in government will be considered). Additional legal and nonlegal experience is preferred. The role will work with the litigation team on business disputes, IP infringement issues, appeals, and administrative hearings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, references, and strong legal writing are required. Commercial transactional experience is a plus. The position requires a candidate who can work independently on many different types of cases, manage demands and changing priorities, and enjoy significant opportunities for trial work. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, superior attention to detail, and a desire to work as part of a tight-knit team. Some office attendance is required, as may be necessary for select cases.
Duties
- Manage all phases of litigation cases, from initial investigation through trial and resolution, ensuring timely and effective case progression
- Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity
- Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions that align with client goals while maintaining professionalism and integrity
- Collaborate with clients to explain legal options clearly and develop effective action plans tailored to their needs
- Maintain meticulous case records and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines
Skills
- Strong knowledge of law and legal procedures
- Experience with conducting legal research and drafting motions
- Ability to effectively participate in depositions and represent clients in court
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus
- Admission to the Bar in Washington State (or eligibility for admission)
- Exceptional communication skills for client interaction

To achieve work-life balance, our annual billable hour requirement is 1,400.
Base annual salary is $140k+ plus additional compensation based upon experience, billables, origination, and traditional annual bonuses. This role traditionally nets $170k-$200k at 1,400 billable hours.
