- Los Angeles - Mid-Senior Level Wage & Hour Associate
Description
The Los Angeles office of Fisher Phillips seeks associates with at least five years of experience to join our wage and hour litigation team. Our California team regularly defends employers in complex, high-exposure wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions in state and federal courts throughout the state.
Ideal candidates will have substantial experience litigating claims under the California Labor Code, the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Candidates must demonstrate meaningful experience handling wage and hour class and representative matters from inception through resolution, including:
- Drafting and responding to complaints, answers, and dispositive motions
- Managing written discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Preparing and arguing motions, including class certification and decertification motions
- Litigating and strategizing PAGA representative actions
- Analyzing exemption classifications, regular rate calculations, meal and rest period compliance, pay statement claims, and waiting time penalties
Successful candidates will possess excellent academic credentials, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment. Admission to the California Bar and a JD from an ABA accredited law school are required.

The yearly salary range for this position is $245,000 – $270,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
