Senior Quality Engineer - .NET
JOB SUMMARY:
As a core member of our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQ) team, you will provide critical testing and analysis of changes made to our critical recordkeeping and client-facing applications that support our important customers. You will provide internal support to platform engineers, developers and analysts by designing and delivering quality tests, automating testing scenarios, validating requirements and providing regression testing.
In this rapid-paced environment, you must possess a "can-do" attitude while demonstrating a strong work ethic. You should enjoy solving complex problems and working independently, as well as, with our IT team and business partners. You will leverage your technical skills in a variety of ways to confirm the overall health of an application before new versions are released to production. In this vital role, you are the last line of defense against the release of defects to our user population.
You will also have the rewarding opportunity to provide your leadership, guidance, and expertise to less experienced team members to help them build and develop their technical skills and business knowledge.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in a QA technical role completing application and software testing. 3+ years in automation testing or equivalent automation training
- Must have a strong QA background in manual, functional testing.
- Must have the ability to quickly comprehend project goals and requirements and to identify gaps, omissions, challenges, and impediments.
- 5+ years of strong SQL knowledge on Oracle or other databases.
- Strong experience in preparing test plans, test cases and test strategy documents.
- 5+ years of experience creating testing defect reports and tracking them to resolution in a defect management tool.
- 5+ years of experience in automation frameworks and related tools, such as Selenium, Cucumber, Java, Eclipse and Maven.
- Strong experience in writing BDD test cases (Gherkin format) and in requirement gathering.
- Strong experience in Functional Testing, End-to-End, Regression, and Smoke Testing.
- Experience with mobile testing.
- Experience in accessibility and security testing.
- Experience with testing Web Services, Web API and Python.
- Experience with JSON and XML.
- Experience with modern deployment models using Jenkins or other CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Experienced with source code version control such as GitLab.
- Experience on the AWS platform and services and other cloud products.
- Good knowledge of modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the agile methodology.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend AI-enabled quality engineering solutions that reduce manual effort, improve test stability, and enhance overall quality strategy.
- Leadership and mentoring skills to provide guidance and expertise to less senior team members, to help them grow their skills and knowledge.
- May be required to assist with planning and tracking of less senior team members' work.
- Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Detail oriented, self-starter with strong organizational skills to multitask and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm to work and learn in a team environment with experience of working in teams spread across multiple locations.
- Should show continuous interest in upskilling and quickly adapting to emerging tools and technologies.
- Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while remaining professional and courteous.
- Able to keep knowledge up to date in the appropriate technical and business-related areas.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiar with DevOps principles and practices.
- Exposure to LoadRunner or JMeter for performance, load and stress testing
- 2+ years of experience within a financial or other highly regulated industry.
- Preferred work experience using JIRA in Agile or related development methodologies and test management tool like Zephyr.
- Good to have experience with the Karate framework for API automation.
- Delivers internal and external customer service excellence. Exhibits listening, patience, empathy, authenticity, pro-activity, and perseverance with our business partners.
- Upholds commitment to delivering optimal solutions, in a timely manner, and balances customer needs with the best interests of the organization.
- Collaboration across teams including Analysts, Engineers & Developers, Business, and third-party integrators in reviewing, evaluating, designing, and implementing solutions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Key team members are spread out across the United States, so hours may extend from day to day.
- Occasionally, support may be required outside the normal M-F schedule.
