Description
Radiology and Imaging Sciences (RADIS) is seeking an Interventional Radiologist. RADIS is located within the Clinical Center (CC) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. The CC is a 200-bed hospital http://cc.nih.gov that provides care for patients participating in clinical research within the NIH Intramural Research Program (IRP). IRP research includes natural history studies of rare diseases, first-in-human gene therapies, novel cell-based immunotherapies and transplants, and Phase I and Phase II cancer trials. RADIS supports clinical trials by providing state of the art imaging, expert consultation and image-guided interventions.
The Interventional Radiology position offers opportunities for meaningful contributions to clinical research and an exceptional work life balance. The interventional radiologist is responsible for performing or directing image-guided interventional procedures, consulting with providers on patient care, supporting quality control, and participating in clinical research. Support for multi-disciplinary conferences and clinical research collaboration with active surgical subspecialities, infectious disease and other subspecialty services are expected of faculty. Opportunities for independent research with NIH institute and center investigators are available and encouraged.
The NIH Radiology Department has state of the art clinical facilities, as well as multi-modality animal IR research facilities. A new hospital tower is under construction which will include multiple new IR suites.

Requirements
Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology. As a federal institution, licensure in any of the 50 states is sufficient for staff be medically credentialed at the Clinical Center.
