*Physician Assistant - Urology (Inpatient/Outpatient, Surgical, Call Required)* *Location:* Fort Worth, Texas *Organization:* Baylor Scott & White Health - Urology *Job Summary* The *Physician Assistant (PA)* provides comprehensive care to urology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting a high-volume surgical practice. This role includes clinic evaluation, hospital rounding, perioperative management, procedural support, and participation in call coverage. The PA practices under physician supervision with delegated prescriptive authority and functions as an integral member of the urology care team, managing both acute and chronic genitourinary conditions. *Key Responsibilities* * Manage urology patients in clinic and hospital settings, including pre- and post-operative care. * Perform histories, physical exams, and develop treatment plans for common and complex urologic conditions (e.g., BPH, kidney stones, urinary retention, hematuria, urologic cancers). * Participate in daily inpatient rounding, consults, and emergency department evaluations. * Assist in the operating room and support perioperative care. * Perform urologic procedures within scope, such as catheter placement, catheter exchanges, bladder irrigation, and support for cystoscopy and stent management. * Manage post-operative complications, coordinate discharges, and ensure continuity of care. * Provide patient and family education on procedures, medications, and recovery plans. * Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. * Participate in call rotation, including nights and weekends. *Essential Functions* * Perform comprehensive and focused assessments, including histories and physicals. * Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies. * Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with protocols and regulations. * Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and adjust care based on patient response. * Counsel patients on diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care. * Document care accurately and ensure timely communication across care teams. * Initiate referrals and consultations as appropriate. * Provide care across clinic, inpatient units, emergency department, and procedural areas. *Key Success Factors* * Knowledge of urologic conditions, surgical care, and perioperative management. * Strong clinical judgment in managing acute and post-surgical patients. * Effective communication and teamwork skills. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. * Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation. *Qualifications* *EDUCATION* * Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program *EXPERIENCE* * Less than 1 year of experience required * Preferred: Exposure to urology, surgical services, or inpatient care *CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION* * Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Texas * NCCPA certification required * Eligible for prescriptive authority in the state of Texas * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer *Benefits* * Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits * 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5% * Tuition reimbursement * PTO accrual beginning Day 1 Benefits may vary based on position type and/or level. *Belonging Statement* We believe that all people should feel welcomed, valued, and supported.d. *QUALIFICATIONS* * EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program * EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience * CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Physician Assistants (PA) Basic Life Support (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer.
