Description
General Purpose:Serves guests food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions. Assists with department training, development and implementing customer service standards. Seasonal Pool Position May-August
Essential Duties:
- Ensures guests are immediately attended to upon arrival and manages customer traffic flow in the dining area.
- Assists with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties.
- Responds to customer questions or concerns regarding any menu item or various other facets of food service.
- Ensures guests are satisfied with the service provided and that items are replenished as needed and maintains a clean and clutter free dining area.
- Communicates guest concerns or comments immediately to management.
- Processes cash and check transactions. Utilizes the point of sales system and trains new associates.
- Follows established cash handling procedures and ensures that other staff adhere to procedures.
- Assists in development of opening and closing checklists and ensures staff has completed duties daily.
- Assists in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
- Ensures established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques are followed.
- Ensures all service associates are knowledgeable of the menu items.
- Leads other servers, kitchen and bar staff before, during and after meal service periods to execute a "Member/Guest Comes First" approach.
- Assists the department manager in training, planning and assigning work. Addresses complaints and resolves problems with service staff.
- Assists in the coordination of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Servers
- Assists in monitoring business volume forecast
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Certifications:
RAMP
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous Bartending experience preferred
- Proven exemplary customer service skills
- Experience with a restaurant POS software platform
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
- Working knowledge of POS system.
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Must have legible handwriting
- Patience and customer-oriented approach
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Responsible and trustworthy
