Title I / LAP Specialist
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, certificated position beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
POSITION SUMMARY The Title I / LAP Specialist provides targeted reading interventions and supports the district's state and federal programs. This position is highly focused on small-group student instruction (utilizing the UFLI curriculum) rather than whole-group classroom management. Additionally, this role serves as a vital bilingual bridge for our Spanish-speaking families, providing occasional translation support for district meetings and conferences. This is a highly manageable role designed with ample time for planning, data tracking, and family connection.
SALARY & BENEFITS Salary is based on the certificated salary schedule, depending on training and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, sick leave, and personal leave.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Instruction & Assessment
Use student data to plan and run targeted, small-group reading interventions (e.g., UFLI).
Assist with setting up and administering student testing throughout the year.
Input state reporting data for Title programs at the beginning of the year and update as new students enroll.

Bilingual Support & District Duties
Provide verbal and written Spanish translation support for the district during parent-teacher conferences and occasional meetings.
Assist in other district buildings as needed (e.g., meeting with families or providing translation for an IEP/school meeting).
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.
Fluent and fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to perform instructional tasks and implement an instructional plan.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Previous experience working in an elementary school setting.
Experience planning and delivering small-group reading interventions.
Familiarity with student data tracking, state reporting, or state/federal educational programs.
Prior experience providing translation or interpretation services in an educational setting.
